Move the Travel
Every travel choice adds up.

What it was about
Move the Travel took the hardest-to-argue part of personal and corporate emissions — how we get around — and made it countable. Individuals and organisations entered how much they travel in an average year, by air, road, rail and sea, and received a practical guide to cutting those emissions along with a pledge to move a number of kilometres away from the most polluting options.
It was run with our partners in travel and aviation, including Goodwings and Air France-KLM, showing what is technically possible now, what is being tried, and what is still missing.
Why it was needed
Aviation is one of the hardest sectors to decarbonise and one of the most argued about, which tends to produce more heat than information. The campaign set out to show what is actually being done rather than what is being promised — and to give people a number they could act on.
Facts and data
- Separate tracks for individuals and for organisations.
- Pledges are measured in kilometres moved per year, not in vague intentions.
- Run with travel and aviation partners including Goodwings and Air France-KLM.
What came of it
A public guide to cutting travel emissions, and a running tally of individuals, companies and countries committing kilometres away from the most polluting ways to travel.
